Catamaran. The Catamaran is a fun craft for older grade school children to make for a number of themes including: Columbus Day, learning about Japan, Transportation, Oceans and Bouyancy. Yes, the Catamaran will really float, but as the paper gets saturated with water, it will sink and be ruined. This can actually start a neat discussion about what made the shhip float to begin with and then what made it sink. This boat is the coolest boat ever, it is quite hard to fold so you need to to have patience but it worth the trouble because the result will be a awesome ship. Paper Folding Catamaran

Folding Instructions: To fold the Boat you should follow step to step the following sequence. On the Left side of the paper leaf appears before folding and on the right side of the leaf after folding it. The central image indicates you like you have to fold the leaf, after The folding you should click the button 'Next' to see the next step. You have to repeat these steps until you finish folding the Boat. With the button 'Back' you will return to the previous step. The button 'Start' takes you to the step 1 and the button 'End' takes you to the last step. Any doubt or suggestion Make It Here!

You have to put a bit of sand int the boat, than it is much more stable. (But of course not too much ;-)) btw, i like the boat very much!!

This is a really cute boat, however the instructions are not very good at all. I was able to do it because I know origami and I know how to work with the paper, but to someone with less experience, like my sister, it was completely incomprehensible. It's actually not a very difficult fold at all, it's just that the instructions need arrows, etc to make it clear.

I'm not sure I got the last couple steps exactly right, but my catamara looks like the picture. Amazing that people can look at a flat piece of paper and figure out the folds to get to something so complex. I like it.
