Paper Airplanes and Paper Boats |
| The Flat. A technology demonstrator paper aeroplane, designed to show off the "enclosed down-turned" format. Its slow, but its very useful in introducing people to a new way of making paper aeroplanes. We could say that it is very simple, very slow, yet a nice glider. | |
| The Fly. This paper airplane, The Fly is probably the most well known paper airplane in the world. It is simple, easy to fold, and flies fast and far. It may have a slight tendency to nose-dive, but it can be corrected by bending the trailing edges of the wings upwards. | |
| X Glider. This plane has a pilot's cockpit canopy so that it looks more like a real fighter jet. It is a simple variation of the Slow plane. | |
| Wide Fenix. The Wide Fenix has almost the same features of the original fenix. Favorite of bored school boys everywhere. It has a very old design but however it is very effective. I can take no credit for its design, as this thing as been around since paper was invented! If it is made well it can fly for a reasonable distance with good stability. It´s a plane that can cope with a full speed throw. It´s fast and it can travel nice distance too! | |
| Nakamura. The Nakamura is a awesome plane. Do not squeeze the nakamura's keel together like you are throwing a paper dart or airplane. This nakamura does not have a trajectory. It follows a distinct and flowing flight path. With the nakamura at rest, and the keel in its natural 'V' shape, is the shape it must be flown in. Do not throw the nakamura. Gently push it on its way and if it is trimmed properly, it will find its glide speed and settle into its flight path. If it exhibits stalling characteristics, gently untwist the wings by flattening the camber crease and try again. If it turns left, then the left wing has more camber and or twist than the right wing, and vice versa. If it spirals into the dirt, then increase the amount of camber and or twist in both wings and try again. Try to keep the wings as horizontal as possible, by this I mean that you should have no anhedral or dihedral because swept wings take care of roll stability. | |
| The Slow. The Slow Paperplane is also one of the most well known paper airplane in the world. The Slow Glider is an upgraded version of the traditional design. The increased front weight and wing area helps this plane glider very well. | |
| Flat Bottom. The Flat Bottom is a model that is fast, robust, and quite amusing to fly. This is the design that I initially started toying around with to develop of other airplanes. | |
| The Fenix. The classic fenix. Favorite of bored school boys everywhere. I can take no credit for its design, as this thing as been around since paper was invented! If it is made well it can fly for a reasonable distance with good stability. It´s a plane that can cope with a full speed throw. It´s fast and can travel nice distance too! | |
| Guinness World Record. There have been many attempts over the years to break the barriers of throwing a paper plane for the longest time aloft. Ken Blackburn held this Guinness world record for 13 years (1983–1996) and had regained the record on October 8, 1998 by keeping his paper plane aloft for 27.6 seconds (indoors). This was confirmed by Guinness officials and a CNN report. The paper plane that Blackburn used in this record breaking attempt was a "glider". This glider is the current king of the paper airplane world. Now you can download the model he flew, and try your hand at your own record. | |
| Mini Flat Bottom. The Mini Flat Bottom is a model that is faster than the original one, is not too robust, and preety amusing to fly. This is the design that I initially started toying around with to develop of other airplanes. | |
| FF1. This paper airplane is really very good. With its wide wing span and the stabilising winglets at the end of wings it is very stable and flies very far. |
