You have two options? or a combination of the two. you can add another flat at the very beginning and fold the two layers together according to the instructions. the other option is adding an insert, as you said (microfiber, hemp, prefold, folded-up flat--whichever you prefer), after it's already in the triangular shape. the last option is combing the two (as well as adding multiple inserts, multiple flats, etc.). hope that helps!

How do you adjust for more absorbancy for an older baby...do you use an insert eventually to? add another layer?
