Paper Pattern 69 Photos | Accidental Pseudo-Flagstone: Backlit | 256

First non-iso-area square tessellation in a long while. I could have easily made this iso-area, but I could not resist making the pseudo-flagstone on the backside of this tessellation. I had originally designed this with the triangle pattern on the front in mind, but I think it's neat how the back ended up. It's very interesting how the points all lined up like that... it was completely by accident. Although this piece has no octagons, it was designed following a 4.8.8 pattern which I shrunk, thus transforming the octagons into the square twists you see on the back. As another note, although the entire back-side has 45 degree angles to the grid, the front only displays creases NOT at 45 degrees to the grid. Almost none of the used creases in the collapse are actually grid-lines, so this piece was a super-pain to precrease.
