What a nice idea !using the hydrangea as a top of masu box .i think i'll try it even though i didn't understand the proportion betwin the size of the final top and the square used to the masu. is it your idea?

Wow! both you and gila_o are awesome! the box truly looks divine. i wanted to know what level hydrangea you used to make it and also how do you lock the corners to make the top? pls. help.

Hey, jacqui, the place to start is with a fujimoto hydrangea. ravi apte has some very nice photo instructions right here: www.raviapte.com/gallery/fujimotohydrangea squaring the corners up is not much. the bottom half of the box is just a simple masu, you know, the traditional square box. the square for the bottom half has an edge 2/3 the size of the top half.
