I folded this object from 510 squares of paper. It is about 20 inches in diameter. I used open frame units. It took me a few weeks to build, probably a total of 25ish hours. It is made of 20 triangular cupolae and 30 triangular prisms.

This looks like a very well rendered version of the modular my friend ('amp; origami partner in crime) ardonik built using open frame units. great-rhombicosidodecahedron by ardonik it has the same convex hull as a great-rhombicosidodecahedron. nice work! modulars using tetrathedral symmetry turn out to be amazing structures, the best part is you can make objects like this that are ''near miss or mathematically illegal, because paper is flexible 'amp; it works. just curious, did you use tape to assemble the triangular cupola to the prisms? good job! i cant wait to see what other ''awesome artwork'' you come up with. **if you enjoy geometry 'amp; modular origami i highly recommend antiprism-free polyhedra modeling software. a light weight simple free software program i use to model polyhedra before making out of origami. i use it as a tool to plan coloring schemes and complex geometric shapes to fold with modular origami. antiprism gives us a model of how our projects will look before we even start. ardonik 'amp; i made this rotunda drilled truncated icosidodecahedron started by using antiprism ''antiview rendering to model it.
