Police arrested a 16-year-old female Southington High School student after she allegedly punched a 15-year-old girl on a school bus.
At around 2:51 p.m. Friday, police got a call reporting that someone was assaulted while riding the bus on Mill Street.
After meeting with the victim, parents and a witness, police determined that someone threw a paper airplane onto the victim’s shoulder on the bus.
The victim tore up the plane and threw it into an empty seat behind her while saying some swear words, police said.
Then the other students on the bus tried to convince the attacker to hit the victim.
As she was leaving the bus, the 16-year-old punched the victim in the head and twisted her right hand, according to reports.
Police arrested the 16-year-old on charges of second-degree breach of peace.
She was held on $500 bond and is due to appear in court on Monday Special to The Bristol Press
