Oruhito [17-May-2013] Definitely one of my favorites! great designing behind this one!
Origamiman88 [17-May-2013] Thanks, alex. probably my favorite design as well.
Origoku [16-May-2013] Wow, i really love this model !! great job !
Benorigami [16-May-2013] I love your designs, and this bat looks brilliant! very nice head details, and great arms and legs shaping!
Origamiman88 [15-May-2013] Thanks, ben. it's actually fun to fold too, i think. the arms, legs and most of the fingers are rolled flap edges, rather than just ''pinching''. this allows for more elegant shaping.
Origamiman88 [15-May-2013] This was the fist subject i tried designing at age 12, so it has a special place in my heart. it started from a preliminary base (all i knew back then), had very small wings, and was only viewable from the front. i liked the body though and inserted that method into a new base. sadly, the wings were still too small. i couldn't figure out a mathematical way to take the body into a larger base, until it came to me one night in a dream. i actually dreamt looking over my own shoulder, watching myself fold the design i'd been searching for. i woke up at 4:00am, and immediately grabbed a piece of paper to see if it would work. it did work, and the bat in the picture is the evidence. this was 18 years after my initial preliminary base concept.
Benorigami [14-May-2013] Thanks for the informations- i was curious about the designing methode. the story of this design is pretty amazing!
Mv origami [14-May-2013] Beautiful job. i just did my first bat design and i hope it evolves into something like this.
Textori [13-May-2013] Excellent design! very realistic!
Wilchua [13-May-2013] Wow~ this one looks different! very good!
The wordsmith from nantucket [12-May-2013] I still remember being awed by your bat from several years ago, which you taught at ousa. wish i could remember it (especially this time of the year!). thanks for teaching it! yours is still my favorite bat design.
Origamipete [12-May-2013] Ruuuun! it's gonna land on my face! =d
