I like to make hats by knitting in the round on 15" Needles! I like to do just really simple patterns of knitting and purling different stitches! I haven't tried any cabling on hats yet, but it's not too difficult!

Gift bags are pretty fun to make. You can either start by buying a pkg of plain bags at your local craft store. or better yet, start with odd bags you have at home. You can paint them with acrylic paints, cover them with fabric, decoupage pictures or photos or other paper onto them, draw on them with markers, or rubber stamp them. You can make them for Christmas or Hanukkah, birthdays, babies, Mother's and Father's Day, and Valentine's Day. You can incorporate many found items from around your house - pictures, bits of ribbon or lace or handmade paper, old scarves or ties, chains or other old jewelry, or even stuff from your garden like moss or leaves or flowers. You can make recognizable pictures or abstract art. You can start stocking up ahead of time, or plan to sell your extras. There are some pretty mind-bending possibilities - hope you find some you like!

I'm totally hooked on scrap booking. It's so much fun to take photos and make a complete layout. There are so many pretty papers with every theme you can imagine. Add some journaling,ribbon,stickers,and other embellishments and you have a great keepsake item. Scrapbooks also make great gifts. I have to warn you though,it's very addicting.
