Question: Cool things to learn to do to impress people?

I am home for the summer and find myself with a lot of free time! Trying to make a list of things I want to learn how to do... so far on my list are: hacky sack, guitar lessons, practice piano, origami, juggle, do a handstand, make pasta from scratch, get better at french, etc...

Sounds like you have a pretty wide variety of things you're working on already. :) I like to crochet and embroider. You could try growing a garden or prize winning flowers. You could perfect a perfect pie, cake, etc...and enter it in a state fair or contest. What would impress people more then a blue ribbon for the perfect pie? lol You could try sewing or jewelry making...then you would be able to wear what you're creating. I could go on and on. Good luck with your summer goals, sounds like fun.

Learn a few card tricks. If you have access to a pool table, learn to play pool. Memorize a couple really long poems...at least one serious one and one funny one. Find and read a 1-volume encyclopedia. Knowing a sentence or two about just about everything is impressive, if you can pick and chose the times to disseminate that knowledge without being a know-it-all. Buy and trade a few stocks, if you can afford to. Do some sort of volunteer work, if you're old enough for that sort of thing. Work out, get in really good shape, learn a few hand-to-hand defensive combat moves.
