Can you help me make this origami star?

Question: Can you help me make this origami star?

Back in grade school we made paper stars that started with 4 long strips of inch-wide paper which were folded in half and woven into an interlocking square. The remaining "tails" were then refolded and tucked through the square a number of times until all of the strips were used. We then would dip the stars in melted wax and sprinkle them with glitter. This was a great activity to keep noisy and excited kids busy before the Christmas break. My young friends who are elementary teachers would like to give this a try but we have not been able to locate the proper directions. Perhaps somebody has some craft books or magazines from the 1950-1960's???

I know another way to make small stars... very easy for kids! 1) Get a long strip of paper... about a finger wide (depends on how big you want it) 2) make a normal knot at one end.. it should turn out kind of pentagon like when you flatten the paper. 3) Take the strip and fold it from one of the pentagon sides. 4) the paper strip can then be folded again to another pentagon side on the other side. 5) keep folding over the sides over and over (it will feel natural to fold them over all the sides)! straight on!! 6) you end up with a flat pentagon shape 5) take your fingers and thub and squeeze each corner until the pentagon pops into a 3d shape... the corners get pointier and wallah! a cute little star!
