Question: Which Origami book is best?
I'm a low intermediate and want a decent cheap-ish book without all the annoying easy bits like how to make a dogs face and stuff like that. i live in the uk so it would ahve to be a uk order but what books are best for my level and which books have you found useful?

Answer by Peter SaydakThe best book for your situation is probably Origami Omnibus by Kunihiko Kasahara. It's got a ton of diagrams and they range from beginner to intermediate. It's also under $20 on Amazon. I'd highly recommend this book because it'll give you a ton of stuff to practice folding. You can read a review of the book that I wrote here: http://ultimateorigami.net/origami_omnibus.html Another good beginner/intermediate level book is Origami From Angelfish to Zen by Peter Engel. It doesn't have anywhere near the amount of models as Origami Omnibus but it does have a good selection. It starts off with some easy ones and then gets into more intermediate ones. This one is something like $13 on Amazon. You can read a review of this book that I wrote here: http://ultimateorigami.net/origami_from_angelfish_to_zen.html Both of these books have a bunch of really cool looking models that aren't too hard but at the same time look a lot cooler than making a dog's face like you say. |
Answer by DewitallMichael LaFosse has great books, you should check those out! If you want to go into the advanced parts of origami a good book to have is origami design secrets by Robert Lang, it has many diagrams, but that's not the focus of the book, design is. |
