Paper Cricket 1 Photos | Weta | 199
Designed and folded by Chad Killeen. Folded from one uncut square. A design I'm working on right now. A weta is a cricket-like insect that lives in New Zealand. I wanted to fold this over something like a cricket because wetas have lots of spikes on their body and I wanted to fold something with lots of spikes.

Jon_tucker [22-May-2013] Looks interesting...i like the spines on the back legs. are those box-pleated or done with an angular pattern? or am i completely off the mark?
Georigami [20-May-2013] I too like the spikes on the hind legs very much, nice touch
Blue paper [19-May-2013] The spines on the back legs were a must for this model. they are not box pleated, but done with an angular pattern ( i would describe it as pleats offset 22.5 degrees if that makes any sense).
Jon_tucker [17-May-2013] Ah i think i know what you mean: the pleats are parallel to each other (not angle bisectors), but they don't hit the edge of the paper at a 90 degree angle-it is 67.5 instead, right?
